Methods

The Gold Standard of Fluency

The absolute fastest way to master English is through total immersion—living, working, and breathing the language in a native-speaking country. When you are surrounded by the language 24/7, your brain is forced to adapt rapidly.

However, we understand that moving abroad isn’t always a possibility. In those cases, the next best thing is to bring the “native environment” to you. Studying with a native-level teacher provides you with the authentic accents, cultural nuances, and real-world idioms that textbooks often miss.

Different Goals, Different Methods

No two students have the same finish line. Because of this, a “generic” lesson plan often leads to wasted time. We categorize our teaching methods based on your specific objectives:

1. Conversational Fluency: The “Natural Flow” Method

If your goal is to speak confidently at social events or while traveling, the focus is on active production.

  • The Approach: Real-time dialogue, slang, and pronunciation coaching.
  • Goal: To stop “translating” in your head and start thinking in English.

2. Business & Professional: The “Precision” Method

English for the workplace requires a different vocabulary and a higher level of formality.

  • The Approach: Role-playing presentations, mastering email etiquette, and industry-specific terminology.
  • Goal: To project authority and professionalism in a global corporate environment.

3. Academic & Exam Prep: The “Structural” Method

If you are preparing for the IELTS, TOEFL, or university entrance, you need a deep dive into the mechanics of the language.

  • The Approach: Intensive grammar review, reading comprehension strategies, and structured essay writing.
  • Goal: To meet the strict scoring criteria of international academic institutions.

Finding Your Perfect Path

We don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” curriculum. By identifying whether you need fluency, precision, or structure, we can match you with the specific teaching style that will get you to your goal in the shortest time possible.

My background

Hi my name is Wesley, online I use the nickname Teacherwez.

Fortunately, English as my first language. I lived on the Southern Coast of Africa. I grew up in a small town called Somerset West, near the world-famous city, Cape Town. English is one of eleven National Languages spoken in South Africa. In Cape Town, we speak English 60% of the time or we speak Afrikaans or Xhosa.

Before I was a teacher, I worked in the tourism industry. I am very proud of the beautiful landscapes and activities South Africa has to offer. After I qualified as a Commercial Pilot at 20 years old. I worked as a surf instructor and a part-time pilot for a skydiving company. I met a variety of interesting people from around the world during this time. I tried learning a bit in other languages from the foreign visitors. But..

People who travel to South Africa want to learn and speak English. I quickly discovered that 95% of the visitors were on a mission to improve their English, as well as have a good time of course. I soon realized that English is a very important Language in all parts of the world. Many people spent time with me learning English because I was patient enough to teach, and my style of conversation was interesting and easy to understand. I was teaching English informally daily. I loved the opportunity and looked forward to teaching more regularly and becoming better qualified. After some online research, I discovered that South African English teachers are among the best in the world and there was an opportunity to enroll in a TEFL teaching course.

In 2013 I qualified as a TEFL teacher. I spent some time, (40hours), as a teacher’s assistant learning from some of the best teachers in the industry. I have never stopped to grow as an Educator. My time and passion are dedicated to my hours preparing classes, and teaching.

The biggest difficulty for me is teaching students with high expectations and low motivation. The problem is because of the methods they have used in the past. My course is traditionally structured with routine constructive feedback given regularly. I have adopted a more modern approach during classes, allowing students to practice conversational skills. Their abilities are developed without the need of pen and paper. Each student is assessed and the methods are adapted to each student individually. My experience with these methods has excellent results, and students continue to be motivated until the end of their course.

Thankful for the opportunity to teach my native language. Confident in my skills to teach all ages and levels. Attentive to my students every step of the way on their journey to speak English fluently.
